Absolutely, the drag came from elsewhere.

I expect us to contribute far more to the drag next season.

That was a first step

'Schland 1 - 0 China

China never got back to their succcesses of the 80s, but they had been gaining ground lately. So it was a gritty affair, with very physical and robust play on the Chinese side, and we came under pressure during the last minutes. And it wasn'Ät even the top match in the group, that will be against Spain on Wdnesday.

Are we going to use demeaning monikers, like "Krauts - Chinks" as we did during the men's World Cup, or are we going to behave since the ladies are present?

I think we should behave,

Scotland 2 - 1 Cyprus in a qualifier for the men’s Euros.

Played 194, won 93, lost 51, drawn 50.

We’re not that far from the Europa League qualifiers so the seasons may overlap.

Thanks for including us in the count. I was sloppy.

Belarus 0 - 2 Germany, European qualifiers

That looks easier than it was. Against two lines of back four and two defensive midfielders, it was tough chewing till the end.

Played 195, won 94, lost 51, drawn 50.

Tuesday is next, Belgium - Scotland, Germany Estonia in the men's qualifiers, England-Scotland in the women's World Cup.

Aw, shucks.

England 2 - 1 Scotland at the Women's Football World Cup

That first penalty was an absolute joke.

Played 196, won 94, lost 52, drawn 50.

England also won the match for 3rd in the Nations League. ON PENALTIES!

This nNations League is just astounding. Which sadist asshole at UEFA thought it would be nice to introduce a match for 3rd in a competition no-one takes sersiously anyway? There is no match for third in the European Cup, so why does it exist in the Nations League? It's a friendly, basically, but one that goes to extra time and penalties.

Here's to Enlgand losing the next penalty shootout, whereverthat may ba.

This is just a comedy cup, unless Eng-her-Lund had won it in which case it is the equal of the World Cup.

Oh, that was a penalty. Because, you see, you don't ever use your arms for balance, do you? Especially during football, with its sudden stops and change of direction, the natural position to have your arm in is glued to the side. Anywhere else, it's not natural. So a penalty it is. Naturally.

Portugal win the firstest evah Nations League, a monumentally important competition, with a hard-won 1 - 0 over our esteemed neighbours to the West. Wasn't such ab da game to watch, if you treated it as friendly cum folklore.

I am on call standing in for a sick collaeague, and it certainly was better to watch this on the mobile behind my desk than having to roam the wards.

Everybody should just start trying to hit the ball into a defenders arm now, I guess.

Germany quite a few, Estonia nil, in the same competition

Played 198, won 95, lost 53, drawn 50.

This would have been the end of our season, but we soldier on because of the ladies. They may yet bring us close to 50% wins.

Germany 1 - 0 Spain in the Women's World Championship

Spain were quite a bit better but tiki-takaed out shortly before the box, while our girls retched one in off a sleepy goalkeeperette shortly before half.

Winning when you're the weaker team, why is that so much fun?

But it was so good to beat Argentina! And yes, re. Arneb's earlier question, football does bring out the uncouth racist in us all! :)
