Germany 1 - 2 Sweden, women's footie.

An utterly terrible performance by our team. It started with a nice goa for us. After an unexected equalizer, we collapsed. Could have been 4 or five to one, easily. Still, I don't see anyone being a threat to the Americans. They can do their planning for the White House invitation to refuse.

This match means no Valkyries at the Olympics, too.

Played 208, won 101, lost 54, drawn 53

Spain 2 - 1 Germany, young'un's footie

When Spein scored their first after 6 min without the Germans even having seen the ball once, I thought it would be a complete dismantling. We caught ground, played better, created chances and, predictably, got the 2 - 0 after a counter attack that was already over, after a magnificent safe of a surprise shot, with a Spaniard catching the rebound. 2 - 1at the 84th, to no avail. We weren't bad, but Spain were very noticeably better. Our boys very much did not look like coming World Champions.

Played 209, won 101, lost 55, drawn 53
Seven over par

And that ends this season's count.

Frame 19/20, Glasgow Rangers to break.

And thus, briefly, ends our count. Short of 50% wins. I predict worse for the coming season, with my lot playing better opposition.

We played 2 matches simultaneously on Saturday, using a mixture of youths and first team players against highland league teams. We won 11-0 and 3-0. Those may be our only wins all year.......

Ah, but with Hertha's new investor, it will be nothing but wins. We'll make up for any shortages of points arising in Scotland, I tell you. Nothing can go wrong. And we'll be very happy for RCC when they celebrate non-relegation, even if they, unexpectedly, win less than half of their season.

We beat something called "Mansfield Town" two nil in a friendly, they could be anywhere from the English Championship to an Under-13 girls team for all I know. And the scoreline doesn't help locate them.

There were some girls on TV this morning wearing USA jerseys and doing something with a ball. Is it a big deal?

It was reasonably big in our house (and we'll watch the Final on Sunday), and it was big enough to feature in our count.

I’ve no idea what’s going on in the women’s World Cup now, lost interest totally after all of the ridiculous var nonsense and shitty refereeing.

...and they lost that game (sorry not "tonight" yesterday, but "this afternoon today), 1 - 2, against Sweden.

Final tomorrow. USA, the current Champion, against the Netherlands, the current European Champion. Lance, if you want to get an impression of women's football, this game might be one to watch for you. It won't get much better than this. You can probably expecht a You! ASS! A! win, but not one that's too easy (should be on the telly at 10 or 11 a.m. in Chicagoland, 5 pm CEST).

Our lads won the first stage of the Tour, not our usual sprinter but his last lead out man who took over after a crash. Team time trial today and we should have a shout at defending it since we have some TT monsters in the team.

Merka 2 - 0 N'lands

The expected result, but it was a really good footie game, great fun to watch. The Leuwinnen held out long before the Girlz took over. Totally deserved US win, by far the best team in the tournament. Megan I'm Not Going To The Fuckin White House Rapinoe scored the 1 - 0 off a somewhat dodgy var penalty, but it was long overdue at that time.

I think this was absolutely definitely the last game of the season - although no, they have the Gold Cup and Copa América Finals at some time in the dead of night tonight.

Murderers and Rapists 1 - 0 Good upstanding White Protestants

In the Gold Cup Final.

When talking about the end of the season, I gorgit the Africa Cup, sorry. That is only at the quarterfinals stage, sowe may get our season overlap after all. Our Leagurme only starts in Mid-August, so there will be little news from this end for the next few weeks.

[Big German head teacher finger wag]Gdansk was never East Prussia, it was the capital of West Prussia [/Big German head teacher finger wag]

In my Pommeranian travels, I never made it to Gdansk, which is a pity. Just from my reading of the Danzig trilogy and from what friends told me, one should have visited it. Maybe for that RB Leipzig - Glasgow Rangers final next year. Beer all round.

I’ll book my flights now. The one good thing about Gerrard is that he has a direct line to the Liverpool reserves and Under-23s, we have another Liverpool laddie on loan who was the best player on the park by a bus ride.
