Meth.

Postby MM_Dandy » Tue Nov 19, 2019 4:59 pm

I'm on it, apparently.

I suppose that there are worse ways to spend $450K. I mean, it's not a bad thing to be reminded every so often that meth, as well as a variety of drugs and alcohol are being abused. We may also want to look at where it's happening the most, which is on the reservations, and maybe, just maybe, we'll consider doing something about the conditions to which we subject native americans. But it's far more likely that we will just throw our hands up and say things like, "It's an indian problem, not ours," or "if they would only work harder," or "if they would only have a better outlook on life."

I am on meth.

Seems to me if we want to solve the problem on the reservations, we ought to sign a treaty with the tribes guaranteeing we will take no action at all. COnsidering we have never signed a treaty with them that we did not later violate, that should ensure some action on our part.

Look for the Blue Stuff. I understand it's 99.1% pure, much better than the "regular" stuff.

I'm liking the jokes as much as anybody, but I did find this article insightful:

Watch on youtube.com
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

So, I think I'll just keep periodically updating this thread to bitch about stupid things my state/local government are doing.

Currently, the state legislature is considering a bill that would make it illegal to administer hormone blockers or perform any medical reassignment procedure on a child under the age of 18. Sponsor calls it "hitting the pause button" presumably on hitting the pause button.

And Lee Qualm, from my hometown, has introduced a bill that would make it illegal for schools to mandate that all of their students be up to date on their vaccinations. I'm not sure how old Lee is, so he may not know of at least one young lady that was killed by Polio as a teenager. But he definitely knows people who knew her.

UPDATE: Some good news - the gender reassignment/hormone blocker bill was killed in Senate committee today.

UPDATE: Although he's neglected to mention it in his articles to the newspapers, Qualm's bill died in committee way back on February 25th. Good riddance.
