Oh for fuck's sake. It might be worth it for you to be Lord Mactep of Oneshoe if you think your USD50 was well spent and people in your local area give you better treatment.

As for actually owning land? There are a number of problems, in no particular order:
There is no contract as it is not specified what you are buying, there is no legal description of the plot of land which can place it geographically.
Land in Scotland is taxed, but non-residential land is taxed at 0%, no tax is payable but you still need to put a return in to Revenue Scotland.
Even if you were told which square foot of Galloway you owned unless that title is registered you are uninfeft so aren't the owner, you simply have a right to become the owner if you register the title and notify RS.
You have no right of access to your land, even if you knew where it was.

You would be paying USD50 for a not particularly fancy certificate which you could generate yourself. Of course if you want a proper title my good friend Lianachan of that Ilk, Laird of an t-Eilean Dubh will elevate you to his peerage for a suitable remuneration.
Get it up ye.

Aren't you a 'Friend of Laphroaig' yet? I would think it (the plot title) entitles you to the same caliber 'Laird-ship'. ;)
And it's $50 much more well-spent.
