Germany in red and England in white is just wrong, and I'm not a fan of self coloured strips. Good result though. I did laugh at Wagner scoring two goals, it seemed very Geman after the non-Teutonic sounding scorers Castro and Ozil. :D

Fox News

On our recent trip one of the english language channels was Fox News. Ok for the first five minutes and then it just seemed to be shouty retards telling lies. They may or may not have had valid points but if they had they were just drowned out by noise. It was a very small sample I watched; is it al...

Pre-Euro the Irish Punt and Sterling were roughly comparable but sometimes varied by up to 10% one way or the other. In Northern Ireland Irish coins were commonly accepted and vice versa. It was not unknown for van loads of 50p pieces to be driven over the border to take advantage of the fluctuations.

Exchange Rates

I was checking exchange rates before a trip to the mainland and came across this. I hadn't realised the dollar was so bad.

The UK voting. Labour took a kicking and a whole bunch of eurosceptics were elected. In Scotland it was 2 SNP, 2 Labour, 1 Tory and a LibDem.

Rats leaving a sinking ship. I was going to suggest Guantanamo Bay but BM65 beat me to it.

I think the expenses scandal is running out of steam, but the pasting Labour took in the elections means they are in real trouble.

Rangers won the Cup at the weekend so the Double for us. In the Giro, our lad Dennis Menchov (he may be a drugged up Russian, but he's our drugged up Russian) was steaming to a close fought victory after three weeks and a couple of thousand kilometers. On the slick streets of Rome he was romping hom...

No but it can be rocket salad . . . I'll get me coat.
