why not just use the built in URL method? [url=http://www.really_big_URL_name_here.com]Put your description of the link here[/url] Use it how? We're talking about a mod to handle long URLs for when people don't post them the right way. Something that will change them on the fly.

I don't think I've ever had conversations in the real world about conspiracy theories in any meaning full way. I've been a party to the occasional "Who Really Killed Kennedy" conversation as well as the "Some Nuts Think we Didn't Really go to the Moon" kinds of topics, but no one ever took a HB stan...

You may want to see if there is some method by which you can anonymously report things like that to personnel. UA should be big enough to have something like that in place. Managers are often useless in dealing with people issues.
