I watched that up until the end of regulation then went to bed. It was a good game but not enough to keep me up on a school night. The US and Canada may struggle in Sochi for the same reason they did in Torino as it will be on the larger Olympic size rink rather than the NHL size. Remember the last ...

Well, honestly, I think an animal as intelligent as an orca *needs* the challenge of learning tricks to avoid the boredom of captivity. They call it "enrichment" and it's challenging even with an animal as small as my lovebird. But yeah, predator, prey, it's unfortunate, but it happens. I...

They are called Killer Whales for a reason . . .

Large predator kills prey.

I have no problem with zoos provided they are modern and help protect endangered species. I have some problems with animals doing tricks for human amusement. Anyone working with animals knows the risks, this was not the Orca's fault.

The ending of a 1970s film you have all seen was heavily based on this film. This scene is repeated almost word for word in the 1970s film.

One: How many guns do you think there are?
Two: I'd say there are about ten guns - some in the field, and some in the tower.

In rugby you don't get collisions like a WR going over the middle and meeting a safety coming the other way. It is hard to know whether padding is to protect from collisions or what causes them in the first place. My suspicion always was that people threw themselves into things because they were wea...

Re: Fucking politicians.

Just before Christmas, a US Court ruled on a related case involving a different detainee, in which the judge provided pages of detailed information on how Mr Mohamed had been abused. Can anyone make sense out of this? The case involves a "different detainee", but the release of informatio...

The tortured man took the UK government to court in the UK, the UK government tried to suppress it, the US government tried to supp...
