I read a poll in our local paper today that said that the percentage of people who believe that the gov. either knew 911 was coming and did nothing or actually took part in making it happen has gone up since the time right after 911. I guess that's the way of things. The further back in time an event is, the more people will question it.

During the Apollo program, how many people thought it was fake as compared to now? Just after WWII how many questioned the Holocaust?

Most conspiracy believers have their political belief and dont want any of that stubborn reality messing with their fantasy, so they just ignore it.

Some of the CB dont think there were any parts of flight 77 at the Pentagon, So I always say, well ok, here you are.

How many people do the conspiracy believers claim are in on this? Let's see so far as I can tell, all the survivors, all of those in Manhatten who saw the planes that morning. All of those in Washington DC that saw them. The check in staff at Logon and Boston who saw and identified the Hijackers (including one girl who commited suicide because of what she considered her part in not stopping them.) Every firefighter, ambulance worker and police officer who attended the three scene, including those that were killed. Every Structural Engineer, half the CT crowd, nearly everyone on boards that actually know what they are talking about.

So what's that? At least a 100,000 people? (probably more.) How exactly do you shut up that many people?

The CTs proof is alwas a rapid-fire collection of video clips set to techno music, attempting to prove that:

1. No plane hit the Pentagon - it was a cruise missile;

2. The hijacked planes didn't bring down the World Trade Center, the buildings were wired with explosives ahead of time;

3. Flight 93 didn't crash in Pennsylvania and in fact landed safely elsewhere. The passengers were in on the conspiracy.


All these claims have been debunked many times
with extrem accuracy.

I'd want to see the exact wording of the poll. If it asks, "Do you believe that the US government knew major terrorist attacks on American soil were likely, and did not take adequate steps to minimize the likelihood and/or effectiveness of such attacks?", that's rather different than asking "Do you believe that the US government knew that hijacked commercial airplanes would fly into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on the morning of 11 Sep 2001, and deliberately allowed these attacks to occur in order to provide a pretext for hostile action against Iraq and Afghanistan?"

Another point that occurs to me, why haven't there been more attacks? If public support for the Iraq war/occupation is weak, a few more government-orchestrated attacks would do nicely, wouldn't they?

Really, why not just order the CIA, FBI, NSA, Border Patrol, Coast Guard, Barney Fife and all the good folks down at Homeland Security to look the other way while another of Osama's teams blow something up and kill another 3,000+ people? Make sure the terrorists are North Korean who were trained in Iran, then we can blow them both off the map and GW's approval rating would go up 3-4 points.

Or rather, why don't they force ISP companies to... er... "filter" the information? Or even put them out of business altogether?

I mean, doesn't the internet give the "Truth" movement the most power? And, obviously, the "Truth" movement has no power over normal channels through television and radio, since those are all "controlled".
