As you may know, there is this idea out there that the world will come to an end sometime in 2012 (December, I think, but I might be mistaken). The reasoning seems to be that the Mayan calendar ends (rolls over) in 2012, and, being very clever people, if the world were going to last longer, the Mayans would have made their calendar last longer as well.

Until recently, I have dismissed all of this as total rubbish. But lately, a number of highly unusual events have transpired that cause me to wonder if the end of the world really is approaching.

a) I took the train this morning, and there was a seat available.
b) At the coffee shop, they gave me what I ordered.
c) I saw a heavily pregnant Chinese woman with a mohawk.
d) I logged into my gmail account, and there was no spam.
e) The HP people came and did something to my computer, and it works better than it did before.

What do you think? Are these warning signs of the apocalypse? Or was it just a weird sequence of random events?

December 21 2012 will certainly be the end of the world.

Since the world is flat, time zones are but another hoax.

I get the nagging feeling though that Bielefeld might actually exist, passing a large station marked with that name every time I do my weekend train commute.

I'm just concerned that the night before the world ends, I am going to watch some dramatic TV show only to find at the close it says "To be continued..."

Last I heard, the next JB film has been put on hold indefinitely, due to financial problems with the studio.

There was recent talk of a new one but the problem is that the last one was so bad that there is no guarantee the next one will be any good.

And that's the problem with the concept right there. They pitched it for KLA2 and it failed at the box orofice. :wink:

Maybe they should actually call it something current like '2012' and pitch it at the 'I want it now' audience of today's youth, who make up most of the ticket sales. Let's face it KLA2, we are no longer in the box office vanguard. (We are more'n likely tryin' to skitch a ride in the boxcar with the other has-beens).
