Spiro Agnew

Hey, there's a name we don't hear much anymore.

I forgot, yesterday was the anniversary of his demise.

In 1973, US Vice President Spiro "Ted" Agnew pled no contest to federal tax evasion for taking bribes and resigned his office. He had been Governor of Maryland prior. I recall old Ted. He would have fit right into the Bush crowd. He spewing speeches written by a younger individual, one Pat Buchanan. Ever arogant, Agnew it turns out thought small. You were vice president of the whole USA, and the best scheme you can come up with is taking some kickbacks from a local contractor?

He was a shady character who was forced to resign. Otherwise he would have become president after Nixon, who was a shady character and was forced to resign...
I plead the Fifth, but if you want to get pushy I'll plead the Second.
