World Series in Detroit

Postby pumpkinpie » Sun Oct 15, 2006 2:19 am

Any of y'all Michigan folk excited about the Tigers going to World Series?? I sure am! I've been a big fan since about 1988, and they've been total crap since then. So this is quite a treat for me! I was old enough to remember the last WS in 1984, but not old enought to appreciate it. (8)

I may try to get tickets for a game.....but flights from Minnesota to Detroit next weekend will be minimum $500. Maybe we'll drive...... would love to be there!!!!

My great grandma is 95 and absolutely elated! She called me to tell me about it, and I don't even watch baseball, but she's got like 30 other great-grandkids that do. She said I was the first person she called because my number was the first to come into her head, and I picked up the phone before Mom.

:D

Look into flights to Flint or Toledo. Not all that far away, especially Flint. And if it saves a hundred bucks, that covers the rental car.

Detroit has a bad track record in these things. If they lose the series they will torch the city and go nuts. On the other hand if they win the series, they will torch the city and go nuts.

I tried that....even flights into Lansing. (I love that airport!) Everything was way too expensive.

No game tickets available for game one anyway. That's ok, it's less stressful staying home to watch it.

GO TIGERS!!!!

Well there's always Amtrak. Get on at Union Station and off at Toledo. That is how I like to get to DC at Xmas. And of course the long drive up the turnpike, that final option. DOne that enough times.

Oops....haven't changed my profile yet. I'm in Minnesota now! 24 hours, by car or train, is just too much in one weekend.

If the Tigers lose the series, they can blame that idiot sports reporter who said that the Tigers were so good they would win the series in 3 games. Looks like ST. Louis has something to say about that.

Well, Mother Nature has something to say about it too, and she talks pretty loud.

Hats off to the Cards, 2006 World Series Champions.

While I was pulling for the Cards, I hated seeing one of my favorite players, Pudge Rodriguez having such a bad series.
