Dixie Chicks fight Global Warming

If it wasn't true, would you believe me if I posted this as a lark?

The truth is stranger than fiction.

It is like killing the proverbial two birds (in this case, three) with one stone and the birds have thrown the stone themselves.

If they would just shut up and sing, that would lower global temps 2-3 degrees in a month.
I'm not a scientist, but I play one on the internet.

Let me get this straight. The Dixie Chicks on their own web site put up an ad for a conservation group they support? Oh my God how horrible.

You know, the Nature COnservancy includes little stickers for your door with their contribution requests. Oh my god, what if someone actually stuck that sticker where it could be seen? COme to think of it, doesn't the Planetary Society too?

Holy shit, some people put bumper stickers on their cars? Oh no.

I wish I had the time to study this stuff deeper.

So far it seems that global warming is NOT caused by people from what I have time to read.

I want to invest more time to be 100% sure.

But, at the same time, I suspect I have invested a heck of a lot more time than The Dixie Chicks. So it is a safe bet I am correct.

They decided to be polical. It is a shame. I liked their first album a lot. I cannot even find a radio station that will play them now.

For an issue as complex as global warming, can anyone ever be 100% sure?

Ah ha! So it is another example of the evil "F" word (faith).
Faith and science clash.

No, I think you can be sure enough because of junkscience.com debunking of it and Simon's debunking of doomsday forcasting. But I have not treked yet.

No no, I didn't mean faith.

Agreed.

Yes, I agree, "sure enough", but that may not be 100% sure. For example, we could never be "100%" sure that humans do at least exacerbate global warming, but we could be "pretty damn" sure.
