Can Gaddafi Hang On?

Discussions of things currently in the news.

Poor Muammar. He'd managed to go almost 25 years without getting his house bombed. I'm wondering if we're going to hear from the Bother Leader and Guide of the Revolution again.

Six CF-18 fighter-bombers are being readied …

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more …

Um, why the hell can’t the “Arab league” or whatever they call themselves deal with this?

Trillions in oil revenues, you figure they could afford to buy a few airplanes off us.

Then they could stand accused of bombing orphanages, hospitals and baby food factories.

tubes, Lance works for the big evil earth-despoiling oil company.

I'm not exactly sure what is going on here now. We got Muamar running the place for better or worse. He gets an armed rebellion going on out on the streets. So he calls out his troops and starts putting it down. Now once they get pushed back to the corner of the country, we here in the west decide to take the side of the rebellion and blow up Muamar's stuff.

OK, now what? What exactly constitutes "win" here?

If any of the foreign principals have a plan here, I don't know what it is.

A de-facto separate state was maintained for about 12 years in northern Iraq. Not sure if that is the scenario we are looking at.

Hah! I was at the recycle center one evening, piling an entire pickup truck load of stuff into the bins, when a woman drove up in her Audi, got out, threw THREE, count 'em: three, empty milk jugs in the bin, and then drove off. What a good little recycler.

Loved by oil companies. (Bet she loves to drive her Audi to the recycling centre several times a day, at least until she has done the recycling for the day).

This is the list, although not the quantities.

http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/v2/equ ... ex-eng.asp

No warthogs.

Also, no F-35's yet, and perhaps never.

Certainly, no Avro Arrow's.
