There was the end of Jon-Erik Hexum. Graduated from Michigan State, right here. Became an actor and while filming something, fooling around, he put a gun loaded with blanks to his head and fired. Apparently didn't realize the powder blast and wadding could be fatal. They were.

What has been even more shocking than the accident - and we've yet to see what the hell a loaded firearm was doing on the set - is the response by US conservatives. Which ranges from saying that it doesn't show the dangers of guns, just the dangers of guns in the hands of liberals to outright mockery,

It sounds a lot like the armourer was slapdash and out of her depth. The safeguards which should have been in place to over-ride her were in the hands of someone else out of his depth and slapdash.
