The bombing of Air India flight 182, en route from Montreal to London, on June 23, 1985, killing all 307 passengers and 19 crew, was the worst air disaster by violent means until September 11, 2001 (The shooting down of Korean Airlines 007 by a Soviet fighter jet claimed 269 lives, the Lockerbie bombing 270).

For Canada, it remains the worst act of terrorism perpetrated on her citizens, with 279 Canadian victims.

You may wonder why I cite this terrible fact in our usually light-hearted game. But when I looked for a "good" number 307, I came across this terrible moment, and I was shocked to find out that, seemingly, I had never heard of it. I do remember Korean Airlines 007 and Pan Am 103, but this one - nothing. Why did we forget them? Because they were 279 Canadians of Indian descent killed by a radical Sikh, i.e., not really "our" people? That would be so sad.

They have low market value. Want to guess how many Africans die every day of preventable causes?

Very true, I guess. And all the grimmer.

The last Berlusconi Impunity Act in Italy was approved by 309 of 545 deputies in the Lower House of Parliament on July 10, 2008. Talk about market value...

Yes, Arneb. Glib but perhaps true, for some, Mactep {hangs head}.

Warnings of the event, and the subsequent enquiries, were ignored and botched at the highest levels. Ontario Lt.-Gov. James Bartleman recently said he warned RCMP days before Air India disaster.

This atrocity was committed in response to Indian troops attacking the Golden Temple.

315 Million Dollar Man Broke

Jack Whittacker won $315,000,000 on December 26, 2002, and took home a lump sum of $113,000,000 after taxes. So now why is he saying that he's broke?

Well AOL Internet news reports say that Mr. Whittaker and his family have had a string of bad luck ever since they won the powerball.

The Number 322
Prime Factors of 322=2x7x23.
322 is a Lucas Number.

322 is a 17-gonal Number.

322 is a 55-gonal Number.

322 is the 35th number which is the Product of 3 distinct primes.

322 is the number of + signs needed to write the Partitions of 12

According to the Skull and Bones Society lore in 322 B.C., a Greek orator died. When he died, the goddess Eulogia, the goddess, whom Skull and Bones called the goddess of eloquence, arose to the heavens and didn't happen to come back down until 1832, when she happened to take up residence in the tomb of Skull and Bones.

The clay tablet with the catalog number 322 in the G. A. Plimpton Collection at Columbia University may be the most well known mathematical tablet, certainly the most photographed one, but it deserves even greater renown. It was scribed in the Old Babylonian period between -1900 B.C and -1600 B.C and shows the most advanced mathematics before the development of Greek mathematics. It concerns the Pythagorean triples.

Huh.

The Eiffel Tower was the tallest building in the world for a while. It is 324 meters in height. It was designed by a freemason. The obvious connection to another tall building, the Tower of Babylon is obvious ...

Whoh! Check out this site. Looks like a GLP subsidiary.

Maybe we should send in our Light infantry ...

... the sheer amount of water that natural and manmade climate changes and human usage is drawing out of the Colorado River system is staggering. The researchers estimate that 1 million acre-feet, or 326 billion gallons, of water are being leached out of the system each year ...

... take a step back and look at the system, it defies reason to build huge cities in a desert that's getting even dryer. I have no doubt that as the price of water and air conditioning rise in Vegas and Phoenix, the low upfront housing costs and hot sun will start to lose their appeal. I just hope that happens before we permanently break the Colorado River water system.
