An evening of good news from this side of the channel - a scarce resource of late, but 'Schland are recovering a bit from Jogi's leaden late years.

'Schland 9 - 0 Liechtenstein

in a World Cup qualifier. Jogi was given a warm goodbye before the match, and while football fans can be cruel to fallen idols, this time they weren't. He got one very big round of applause. kThe last four years weren't enough to erase the memories of the years 2004 - 2014. Thank you Herr Bundestrainer!

Played 74, won 31, drawn 10, lost 33

He had a decent record for sure, apart from the nose-picking of course. Not in our count for various reasons, but Scotland won 2-0 tonight and are guaranteed a playoff place for World Cup qualification.

Great result for Scotland last night, beating Denmark 2-0. First game the Danes haven’t won in this qualifying, and first time Scotland have won 6 competitive games in a row for 90 years.

Over 40,000 braved the -9C cold in Edmonton to see Canada beat Mexico 2-1 last night. I'm impressed. :)

Great result, and also impressed so many (or any at all, really) attended in that weather. Not many away fans I suspect...

Yes I saw the table, Fuerth need snookers.

Meanwhile we’re a goal down against the Leith Soapdodgers in the Wee Cup semi. The new manager hasn’t solved that flaw yet. The previous one left the first time he had a good offer which is fair enough, we knew he would.

Ok, they got a third but we got one back. In Van Bronkhorst’s first game as a player Rangers went three down to an Oirish mob and won 5 - 3 so it is bound to happen again.

I don’t think we’ve ever beaten Rangers, come to think of it.
