I'll offer the latest I have seen before opening this up to the house for others.

Last night at Celtic Connection the second half was opened by a five minute slide guitar solo, which drew very muted applause.

As a guitar player, the last thing I want to hear is a guitar player solo. I really don't like to hear solos of any kind! I want to hear songs - not meandering bullshit.
Is there such a thing?
