I don't watch movies very often, but I like to hear what others who did it for me have to say. One example: The Critical Drinker, a Youtube film and TV criticism channel hosted by someone who, well, likes to drink a lot and criticizes under influence, nonetheless with a sharp mind.

Being a Scotsman, he is of the typically Scottish sunny disposition and likes to sprinkle his comments with cuts of the dwarf from GoT puking on the pavement or a severe Scotswoman from some TV series saying "Yes, I can definitely smell shite". After each of his commentaries, he will dispatch his audience with a cheerful "Anyway,that's all I've got for today. Go away now".

I liked his comments on the Disney Star Wars films, or on the general state of the blockbuster industry. Enjoy.

I suspected you would know who it was right off the bat.

So how do you like your opinionated compatriot?

His voice is annoying, particularly in the Star Wars one, but can't fault a single word of what he says.

Looked this guy up last night to see if he'd said anything about the Amazon Lord of the Rings series Rings of Power. He had! He has two videos about it (a special one for the season finale) and I was delighted to see him pointing out the exact same problems that I'd been pointing out to friends who liked it.

She's the "I can definitely smell shite" actress, in a clip from a 90's Scottish sketch show called "Chewin' the Fat". Same sketch show that ultimately led to the excellent "Still Game" sitcom.

I'd be interested to read what our Visiting Professor of Bond Studies makes of this....
