Race away! You'll never feel the same about uploading "large" files anymore.

Dunno yet. The service provider claims a maximum speed of 100Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload. What that means in terms of me sitting here and typing stuff I don't have a clue. But the pages reload real fast

Ah, the good old "up to" disclaimer. Have you tried Speedtest or whatever works in your crazy upside down part of the world? It's great when the internet just goes bang! here's your stuff!

Cool. Is that good or bad for NZ? Any idea what you got previously? Internet speeds are generally pretty shite up here in Blighty.

Seems to be faster (for now), but only by fractions of a second

That sounds more like it. Upload speeds are usually listed around 10% of download from what I am used to seeing.
So I don't know how they came up with upload being half as fast as down ("service provider claims a maximum speed of 100Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload").

Yeah its all BS, but one of my kids will be back from the university hostel soon, and he'll probably loaf around using up a bit of bandwidth from time to time. And one of my other kids'll be home for xmas, and she'll use a bit. And the missus'll use a bit watching netflix. And the other son. So I have to fit more in somehow.

Is there any kind of data cap, or unlimited?

'unlimited' data cap option (obviously there are practical limitations)

And sometimes hidden limitations, like your speed gets 'throttled' after a certain data level is reached. Those can be major speed limits depending on the provider.

And it turns out it hasn't been installed properly. Back to the service provider tomorrow.

Well that upload is 50% of down, so that blows a hole in my previous statement.
That's awesome, maybe the 10% is just in my area.
