Dark side of the moon

“The dark side of the moon???” Meaning, of course, the far side, which is sometimes fully lit by the sun, sometimes half lit, sometimes dark … just like the near side we can see. Plus, this reporter is not sure how many days it took Apollo flights to reach lunar orbit.

How little research would it take to get these facts straight, rather than spreading ignorance? Who writes their reports, Pink Floyd?

How does this network dare to brag that it is “The most trusted name in news?”

Erm, well. I'm sure it's not easy to find that sweet spot (if it exists) between giving a report that most viewers could assimilate easily and one that's technically accurate. In this case, though, I don't think he accomplished either.

Listen all the way to the end of the album (do we still call them that?) before you dump on Pink Floyd for this one!

NO offence intended to Pink Floyd.

My thought was that the album title was the extent of that talking head's astronomical knowlege ... or worse still, that of his writers!

Perhaps the title, but the album content acknowledges that there is no dark side of the moon!

OK, you got me. Knocked me down.

Just waiting for Enzo and BM65 to put the boots to me.

Still, what about my OP? This is the kind of reporting that Phil Plait used to object to. A scientist I greatly admire, and who actually first attracted me to a bulliten board.

Sorry, not much of a PF fan, so I can't really comment.
Is there such a thing?
