Moon halo

Postby KLA2 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 4:12 am

Saw a halo around the moon for the first time, tonight, at about 10:15.

Went outside to see if observing was feasible. Sky was hazy, very few stars visible, but this big, "clear" area about 20? moon diameters extended around the moon, ending in a pale, white, hazy border. The illusion was of a wind blowing outwards from the moon, pushing a pale, luminous mist back in a perfect circle.

Cool. ... "keep watching the skies!"
