All we have is clouds, but I'll wager my lunch money that you are looking at Jupiter.

grab your binocs and see if you can spot the moons around it.

Almost certainly Jupiter. At the time you5 posted, however, the moon was just rising and a good distance away from Jupiter. However, yesterday and especially the day before yesterday, the two were pretty close in the constellation of Taurus, just N of Orion.

The Earth? I think that's the closest planet to the moon, anyway.

When I posted, something had caused me to remember that this was the case the day before :)
