Wow! Good for her!

But, I'm sure she would rather be called Dr. hippie.

Wow! Max Planck Institute! That is sooo cool.

Go Dr hippitrekx!

Rockstar.

Thanks everyone!!! It feels totally surreal! I feel like it wasn't that long ago I was doing my high school science fairs and playing Spartacus on the board here!

After all the hard work, I find I'm not too sure how to be bored now. I was sitting at my desk this afternoon when it was over and before I went out to celebrate and just started editing my next publication because I didn't know what else to do!

I also was lucky enough to see the total eclipse on Monday and it was clear skies. SO AMAZING! I feel like my bucket list is pretty much done unless some aliens want to drop by and beam me up! :glp-abduct:

:=D:

Since you are going to München, let's say "Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum PhD!"

Wow, the Planck Institute? Well done.

Try learning to curse in Bavarian, who knows whe it will come in handy.

Wow, you will work so hard, but you will have so much fun doing it. Try to spend a weekend skiing at Wilder Kaiser while you're ther. You won't regret it!

BTW, did you know that as an employee in Germany, you get 24 days a year of paid leave (+public holidays) by law, but probably more like 30? Enjoy them!

All things are relative. 350 or so miles which isn't far in the Midwest but 7 or 8 other countries are nearer Berlin than Munich.

Edit to add: In practical terms hippie will be two hours flying time or less from pretty much all of Europe.
Get it up ye.
