We were told that the solar eclipse would be visible in Cambridge from 10.00 am so went to look. But this is England, so, at the key time, both the sun and the moon were adequately covered by cloud!

Bugger, not paying attention. 10.00 am there is 5.00 pm here, and I was out on a bicycle. Should have looked.

I should have looked, too, but completely failed to prepare myself and the kids for the event. Bugger. there will be another one on 25 Oct, 2022, but I am afraid THAT will bei adequately covered in clouds as well.

Our long-range weather forecasts aren't that reliable

‘Twas a blood moon. Saw it out walking at about 6pm under a clear starry mid-winter night and thought it was an odd looking colour for the moon. Then I realised several days later that it was an eclipse, but at the time I wasn’t aware of what I was seeing.

(Edit: Oops I was talking about the lunar eclipse a week or so ago. So, big news of the day; there was a solar eclipse a day or so ago. Sorry, no chance of seeing that one)

I was in Stornoway, and the eclipse of course was during the morning that featured the first clouds I’d seen for days. Very thick. Rain too. Cracking again that afternoon, and since.
