The Wiggles cancelled

Postby tubeswell » Thu Jan 21, 2021 3:16 am

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

Only one of them is original (the guy on the right). We saw them about 15 years ago and I have to say I was impressed with their show ... an I don’t really go in for that big, produced stuff. However, they know their audience and they include plenty of entertainment additions for the parents in tow (they tried to mess each other up quite a bit, laughing at themselves). Musicianship is also top-notch. I was pleasantly surprised!

Going in to something with low expectations is great, as the only way is up.

I'd only heard of The Wiggles through their being mentioned in other Australian things - Kevin Bloody Wilson springs to mind.

I loved The Rutles. Need to see it again.

The Wiggles show is the biggest show I’ve ever been to. Most things I’ve seen (and continue to see) were/are in tiny clubs and bars.

Never heard of them.

I thought they might be what South Park parodied, but it turns out that was Yo Gabba Gabba.
They call me Mr Celsius!

Yo Gabba Gabba was quite clever - I appreciated it for its obvious sense of "Can we do this? Sure we can!" approach to making a kids' show. The fact that they had Biz Markie on as a regular feature stumped me, until I read an interview with him wherein he claimed, "I loved Mr. Rogers as a kid and wanted to be him!"

Started by two skate punks who became stay-at-home dads and wanted something fun for their kids. Being a stay-at-home dad myself, I have no idea how they found the time!
