I wouldn't be too strict here. Putting yourself in someone else's shoes and giving a nod to the fact that one people's liberation hero is another perople's terrorist can't be too bad.

Of course, nothing shows any understanding, at all, when worn with a MAGA hat.

Well the good news for Kashmiris in IAK is that they have been kicked off Facebook and Whatsapp for being inactive, the bad news is that there is still no internet access.

Meanwhile Modi is turning India into a one party, one religion state. And Trump is visiting next week, which will pour oil on troubled waters, or on the fire. Probably the latter.

Protests in India against the new citizenship act are getting more violent, I suspect some of the protests were timed for Trump's visit but possibly not. These are the worst religious riots since Gujarat in 2002. The Chief Minister of Gujarat at the time who is accused of inciting violence and preventing the police from intervening? Narendra Modi.

The Indian government has released a Kashmiri leader from house arrest, it is not clear why. It is also odd that he was arrested in the first place since he was always viewed as pro-India.

Remember back in The Before Times when I said the plan was to allow Hindus to buy land in Kashmir and turn J&K into a Hindu state? It seems the plan is to allow Hindus to buy land in J&K.

Did I ever mention the documentary on Real Kashmir FC? Managed by a very sweary Scotsman? I don't know if it will play outwith the UK.
There is a clip here which shows what it was like before the current lockdown.

A follow up programme is being shown tomorrow, which should be interesting since it was filmed during the current lockdown.

It's easy to forget that China claims part of Kashmir as well.

Rather than start a new thread: there was a curious development last week when the head of the Pakistani Army called for a reduction in tension with India. It is starting to come out that the UAE have been brokering peace talks for a while, hopefully they will lead to some concrete improvements.
