Hmmm. There's a good chance it'll be me that lets down myself, and the whole school.
We're playing Hamilton and Hearts in the league, and St Johnstone and Forfar in the league cup before Arneb's brave lads lace up their boots on the 16th Aug.
A-nis bidh fios aig daoine nuair a tha mi a 'mionnachadh aig dhaibh.
I can't find odds for teams going a season winning every game, or even undefeated but if we do we'll win our leagues the odds of which are given as Rangers 9/4, RCC 2000/1, Hertha 500/1 and Fürth 50/1. Which I think means a £1 accumulator would rack up £112,500,000 when it comes off. Given Rangers and RCC play in the same division I can see a flaw in this. If we take County out as the weak link, if Hertha's new investor spends wisely and Fürth don't Fürth then we are £225,000 to the good. Subject of course to me not having bollocksed the arithmetic too badly.
Spending a quid on crazy stuff isn't a crime, you know. And the win is tidy even if we carve it up between the three of us.
Maybe you could calculate the odds of Rangers winning, Hertha making it to Europe, and RCC and Fürth both staying in their respective Leagues. That won't make us millionaires, but it should pay for an outing with a good barbecue, a few beers and a bottle of really good Single Malt to be consumed when the fire burns low and the night sky shakes its head at us.
I can get Rangers to win the league at c2/1, Hertha to finish top four at c20/1 but I can't get odds for the other two bets. I'm still trying though. It was a waste of time trying online so I'm just going into bookies and asking.
Oh my. Even Rangers and Hertha reaching their goals only gives us 120 quid for our three. That may be the outing, but without the flight(s). So we WILL need RCC and Fürth...
